New Platform and Pavilions Inaugurated at Prophet’s Biography Museum in Madinah

Prophet Museum Madinah

Madinah, April 2025 — The International Exhibition and Museum of the Prophet’s Biography and Islamic Civilization, located adjacent to the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah, has unveiled newly inaugurated platforms and pavilions, further enriching its role as a global center for Islamic education and heritage. The expansion was officiated by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdu-Aziz, Governor of the Madinah Region, under the supervision of the Madinah Region Development Authority and the Muslim World League (MWL), led by Sheikh Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul-Karim Al-Issa.

Enhanced Visitor Experience

The new additions to the museum create a deeply immersive, interactive experience into the life and message of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). These pavilions aim to bridge past and present, using modern technology to convey timeless lessons of Islam.

Key Features Include:

  • Encyclopedia of Prophethood: A detailed collection documenting over 25,000 authenticated miracles and signs of the Prophet, based on reliable Islamic sources, offers visitors an in-depth understanding of his life and mission.
  • Immersive Theater: A cinema hall using advanced audiovisual and virtual reality technologies showcases short films on key events in the Prophet’s life, transporting visitors to 7th-century Arabia.
  • Interactive Exhibits: Virtual reality models display the Prophet’s personal belongings—his sandals, cloak, utensils, and more—using 3D recreations and holograms.
  • Descriptive Panoramas: Large-scale 3D displays and floor models of the Prophet’s Mosque and the homes of his companions help contextualize historical events.
  • Gift and Learning Center: Over 200 scholarly publications on the Prophet’s life, along with multimedia educational materials and souvenirs, are available for further learning.

Multilingual and Inclusive Education

The museum continues to emphasize universal accessibility and understanding. Exhibits are offered in seven major languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Urdu, Turkish, and Indonesian. Plans are underway to expand language offerings to meet growing international interest.

Notably, the new pavilions highlight the roles of women and children in early Islamic society and feature segments dedicated to the stories of earlier prophets mentioned in the Qur’an, fostering interfaith and intercultural understanding.

Promoting a Message of Peace

As part of Saudi Arabia’s wider vision to promote Islamic heritage, the expanded museum serves as a beacon of peaceful coexistence, education, and cultural diplomacy. It reflects the Kingdom’s efforts to disseminate the authentic message of Islam—one of mercy, tolerance, and universal human values.

The initiative also underscores the continued partnership between the Saudi government and the Muslim World League to deliver religious education grounded in authenticity, modern accessibility, and global relevance.
